Smoke Alarm Cake

Yes you have read that right, a smoke alarm! My Grandad used to be a fireman, he then went on to be a community safety officer and he wanted a cake he could take into work for his colleagues as he was retiring. As a novelty he asked me to do a smoke alarm cake based on the smoke alarms they have to fit.
This is the smoke alarm I based it on:
And this is the cake:
A 10" round Madeira sponge cake with jam and buttercream filling

  3. Impressive! That’s a perfect copy indeed! Have you tried creating other unique concepts? How about a chocolate flavored CCTV camera cake? LOL! I bet it will look awesome in a rectangular shape. I think something like this would be an ideal gift to my brave uncle who works in a security agency. =)

  4. Beautiful and neat – this is a masterpiece that is worth sharing. I bet this is an original concept that you won’t see from others. Baking a cake version of a fire alarm sounds interesting, and when it is right before you, the first thing that you’ll think about is how good it tastes. Yummy! :P
